The 7 TOP Family Experiences

Travelling with the family is an authentic and unique pleasure.

However, taking a vacation with your children also implies some extra needs: suitable hotels, welcoming facilities for children, and the opportunity to experience new adventures, different from those that can be found commonly in the city.

Between San Martino di Castrozza and the valleys of Primiero and Vanoi, there are so many opportunities for an outdoor vacation with your kids: some allow mom and dad to relax, while others let parents discover how nice it is to go back to having fun like kids. Each experience is accompanied by the pointed and captivating profile of the Pale di San Martino, the perfect background for photos and memories to keep in the family album.
Adventure parks, via ferratas, suspension bridges, educational farms: here are all the unmissable experiences for families on holiday in the Pale di San Martino.

Agility Forest is a unique adventure park, immersed in the magical atmosphere of the woods surrounding San Martino di Castrozza. Majestic fir trees more than 30 meters high are the true protagonists of this natural gym suitable for both adults and children, which with its 9 routes and 55 variations ensures everyone the right amount of adrenaline and fun.

The new Educational Ferrata Val di Scala in the Vanoi Valley is one of the very few examples of ferrata on granite at low altitude. Easy to reach and to access, this via ferrata, equipped with rungs and steel cables, climbs a total height difference of 200 meters, ideal for beginners and families who are approaching mountaineering for the first time.

In summer 2019, a new experience joined the many adventures you can try in Val Noana, like the hiking trail of the giant firs or the adventurous canyoning in the company of the Alpine Guides: a spectacular Tibetan bridge seventy meters long and thirty meters high that connects the Fonteghi refuge to the meadows of Caltena and San Giovanni.

A gem of the summer is the new Bike Park in Primiero, a pump track for bikers of all ages with rollers and banked turns to be tackled with all types of bikes, but also scooters and skateboards. This facility, served by a well-stocked bike grill, joins the two existing ones in San Martino di Castrozza.

‘Stroll’ and ‘stroller’: two words linked by the same root that can get along even up here, in the Dolomites. From Malga Juribello to Val Venegia, without forgetting Baita Segantini and Val Canali, there are so many routes that allow parents, without too much effort, to bring their babies to breathe the fresh mountain air.

In the splendid setting of the Pale di San Martino, nature is a large open-air school. Thanks to the many educational farms in the area, children have the opportunity to get closer to the world of animals and discover that far away from the school desks, learning can be really fun.

The mountain is the ideal destination not only for hiking professionals, but also for families who want to breathe the crisp air at over 2000 meters above sea level. Thanks to the convenient cable transport structures in the area, you can reach the summit of the peaks and find refreshment in the high-altitude refuges, a privileged starting point for fun trekking routes for the whole family.
